Eight random things about me. Is this like true confessions or like a job interview (my worst trait? well, sir, that would have to be that I’m a workaholic)? I’ll probably go for something in between……..so as to avoid criminal liability and such.

1. My hair is grey, well, much of it. Really, it’s silver. It just came creeping in early on, compared to my friends (I think, really, who knows the way people COLORCOLORCOLOR), and with the combination of laziness and cheapness (oh, yeah, and that IAMNOTBUYINGINTOTHATSUPERFICIALBS sentiment), I never colored it. Even when hair dressers would lean in, whispering, “Ya know, we could do something about this grrrrrreeeeeeey…..(wink wink)” Even when my grandmother gasped and said, “well, you’re too young for grey hair!! Why not color it for goodness sake!” Some days, I am proud of it. Other days, I contemplate Clairol.

2. I’ve starting liking bird watching. How geeky is that? Next, I’ll get a pocket protector and bake my own bread.

3. I miss Oscars parties. No one seems to care about them anymore. WTF?? (Kinda makes me a grouch! Ha! Get it?!)

4. I like the way my dog’s head smells (except when she has been to the beach at low tide).

5. I speak Spanish (and Kid, too), well, more like Dora and restaurant Spanish. I can tell you to jump over a rolling log in a river and then order a chicken enchilada with a beer.

6. The realization I’ve had as a mother (yea, there’s just the one): I like coloring. It’s very soothing on an airplane when I am nervous.

7. While in Alaska, I went into a real, live gold mine, with hard hat and all. I’m talking waaaaay in and out through the other side of the mountain, miles and miles, down lots of levels, riding a big truck, then a train car, then walking in a small tunnel which eventually had a light at the end (whew!).

8. Scariest moment I ever had was getting certified for scuba in Juneau waters when I could not see the beyond the length of my extended arm. NO visibility! I think I grew little balls that day. Tied with panic attack in sweat lodge years later.
