Bainbridge Island has a special park we visited recently, Bloedel Reserve. It has an entry fee (or annual membership options) and something like 150 acres to lose your kid in with trails, ponds and views of Puget Sound.
Everyone around here always wants to know what’s in bloom out there, so in case you’re wondering, too, here is what I snapped. And having the brown thumb that I do, I personally cannot even tell you what all these are. Can you tell me?

Besides flowering things I cannot identify, Bloedel offers expansive, green lushness to stroll around, sit in and think among when you let your kid run off.

Formerly private Bloedel home with Puget Sound view on other side. Sa-weet.
I hope to spend more time out there this summer. Ya hear that, Mother Nature? Please, no June-uary this time around….
Bloedel Summer Hours: (June-August) Tuesday & Wednesday, 10am-4pm, Thursday-Sunday, 10am-7pm. www.bloedelreserve.org.
