That age thing can be so annoying! This problem can even follow a teenager trying to get hired and having to be at least 16. Yep, we did what you did — or were considering doing. Of course, that meant a birthday card from the company came each year on the reported birthday, which always got a laugh!

You’re totally right. Those age guidelines are so arbitrary anyways. I know plenty of kids who are technically old enough for the camps, but who behave worse than my toddler. If you know that Kid can handle the camp, and she has friends who are taking it, then do what it takes to get her in. Summer is supposed to be FUN – for both kids & parents.

(BTW – I’ve been celebrating my 29th birthday for 8 years running.)
