Dog crashes van into coffeehouse
Pooch named Bentley puts vehicle in drive while owner shoppedST. JAMES, N.Y. – A dog left inside a running van put the vehicle in drive, causing it to crash into a Long Island coffee house.
Suffolk County police said no one was injured in the incident, which damaged the glass window and some patio furniture at Cool Beanz coffee shop in St. James.
Police said a 60-year-old Port Jefferson resident left the van running while he went into the shop. His dog, Bentley, somehow knocked the controls.

Great. Now there’s going to be a knee-jerk reaction by police departments all across the country. It will become illegal to leave your dog in the car, even for a quick stop at the ATM machine, or while you drop off your books at the library. Consequently, people will just stay home with their pets, commerce will come to a screeching halt, and our fragile economy totally collapse. This is the Beginning of the End!
All because a dog couldn’t keep his paws to himself. (Or was it because a STUPID man left his blasted car running while he went in to get his latte?)

Wowwwww I just laughed out loud. Picture, if you will, standing in line at the coffee shop and then seeing your dog behind the wheel of your car as it barrels through the front window of the shop.
Why in the world did that guy leave his car running?! You can’t do that anymore! You can’t even do that in your own driveway anymore…liable to get it snatched right from your home! savages.

I was once in an ice cream shop and a dog that was left in a parked car jumped into the front seat and started pushing the horn with his paw. The owner kept running out to scold him and he’d jump into the back seat, but as soon as she was back inside, he was laying on the horn again. Very funny.
