I'm all for pick-your-battles parenting (which is why my toddler is still wearing her bathing suit in October), but I think I would have to draw the line at foregoing pumpkin patch pumpkins for the store bought variety. I hope that you at least picked one for yourself at the patch. Love the eagles, by the way! Way better than pumpkins.
