Since one or two of you said “Nice shots, Wendy! You’re the best! I couldn’t make out ANYTHING in those nest shot of yours,” here’s one more picture of those two Swainson’s thrush babies.
No, they haven’t flown the coop nest yet, but I’m guessing tomorrow might be The Day given how they’ve been s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g their wings out and looking around after mom flies off.
Their fledging (is that a word, Birdchick?) will be perfect timing for more worry in our household since Kid has now named them “Junior” and “Cutie.”
Don’t ask me which is which.
Does one look more Junior-ish? More Cutie-ish?

Well, it was bound to happen. Here’s what we saw this morning when we peeked at the nest:
I’m a little sad. I can hear their little thoip‘s around the yard, though.
Fly safe, guys!
(Guess this is practice for the Empty Nest syndrome that will be here in another 12 or 13 years…..)

Oh my goodness – we have a nest with three just under one of eaves! There are 3 little ones… so noisy! I didn’t know what kind of bird they were, but now I do! I just wish I could get high enough to get as a good a picture as you did!
Nice shots, Wendy!, you’re the best!
Ah, address?
That’s a cool pic. My kids have named 2 dragonflies “Steve” and “Cody” respectively.
How sweet — a two-headed bird. Wonder how they’ll decide which direction to fly?
I don’t know – they are both pretty cute. And juniorish.
That’s a really nice shot.
Thanks!
Clearly, “cutie” is the one on the right. SO much cuter than the other one.
Fly away, little babies, fly away and catch a bunch of bugs!
I still think it’s hysterical your husband tied the nest in place.
