plus, if you are anything like me, the entire time you are @ the pool, you will not be able to actually enjoy yourself….paranoia will set in….

“Cutting to the chase” again…. As I see it, you risk loosing a friend, — and maybe get a bad rap on your stellar (I’m sure) reputation, — especially since she didn’t make the offer after you lightly mentioned the subject. I guess the purpose for bringing it up to her was to learn what she thinks about this; now you know what she thinks….. I know you’re disappointed she didn’t go for it.

Janet makes a good point. My friend claims they recognize them at the pool ever since one of her kids barfed there.

Jim, I would be shocked if it were not already happening here every day! Maybe people even SHARE a membership secretly? I wonder…..

GL and Jenn, cut to the chasers! I DID sort of mention it, with a laugh, to my friend and that’s when she said she thinks they know them. They’re sort very by-the-book types. But that’s when I’d just wear my big hat, like Mrs. G. said, and I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t care.

As for drinks, there are lifeguards on duty, young, strutting kids who are surely competently guarding our children while they splash?

What I don’t know is what Chip said–is there a report of dates showing attendance that they’d get later….

Why don’t you just ask your friend if you could use their membership while they were gone? Problem solved. It’s being paid for, someone might as well use it.

I don’t agree with the others on the drinks, though. A poolside margarita never hurt anyone. It’s the people who have four or five margaritas you have to worry about.

Small town — your friend would possibly find out by someone innocently – or not — mentioning they had visited with you at the pool during the time they were out of town.
Years ago we were loaned a friend’s ID to use for a pool in University Park. Apparently, it was a fairly common thing. Asking permission is the easiest way, I guess, to use someone’s ID, wording the question in a way they could say “No” without feeling bad.
