Cotton or flannel sheets?

Hey, Pacific Northwesterners, say you’re changing sheets today. Just hypothetically speaking….

Do you put back on cotton ones, assuming June means June, or do you pull back out the flannel??

  1. Flannel sheets. Electric blanket. Down comforter. And that’s with the furnace still running.

Cotton sheets are reserved for that ONE hot weekend in August, when everyone is DYING because it’s SOOOO hot and Oh, how they looooong for the clouds back.

  2. I put the cotton sheets on a few weeks ago, but had to take them off after Pete started shivering in bed. I refuse to put the flannels back on, so I’ve struck a balance with the jersey cotton set.

  3. First off, I can’t just have sheets on a for weekend. More like a month….or a week, I mean (isn’t that what Oprah said?).

Jersey option! Hadn’t thought of that.

  4. ugh. flannel sheets AND down comforter if this weather’s any indication. what did we DO to deserve THIS?!

  5. Cotton! Soft, silky Egyptian cotton! All year long. If you want warmnth, you add blankets, but against my skin I want cotton.

  6. Silk. Slick, cool, sumptuous silk.

And then change the damn things every day because it’s so freaking HOT and I sweat like a horse at night.

  7. bananas, it wasn’t me! it musta been you that caused this freeze!

citizen, soft cotton IS good! so true!

jenn, you little vixen, you, silk!?! i guess you oughta know about that horse sweating part…. :)

  8. lol. The 4th of July is just around the corner. Your summer is coming soon.

  9. Well I live on the east side and we have our cotton sheets on because we have had some really hot days, now this week it snowed just 30 minutes from here. WOW! go for the 400 thread count cotton and a great quilt

  10. Cotton. With a heating pad.

  11. Hubby doesn’t like flannel or I swear I would use them all year round!

Opt for a dual sided electric blanket for winter months.

Oh, and first warm day here since Mother’s day…I’m sensing a trend..since it’s FATHER’s day!

  12. To me, it’s more about the comforter than the sheets. I use high-thread-count cotton sheets in any weather … because I have a really nice lightweight goose-down comforter that just seems to give me more warmth when I need it in cool temperatures, and gives me more breathability when it’s warmer out (though sometimes when it’s REALLY warm, I do need to stick my feet out from under).

If you have a really good all-season comforter, I think the sheet question is irrelevant.

  13. Well… since it is JUNE-uary… the flannel. yep. definitely! I removed our winter blanket a couple of weeks ago, and had to pull it back out. Grrr…

  14. Flannel. Shoot, I’m still wearing flannel jammies with my flannel sheets a lot of nights (sleeping with the windows open may be a factor there). The percale sheets come out of the closet for a brief fling in August. Certainly helps the percale ones live forever.
