hey, a father’s day gift idea!
So, only a week to go until Father’s Day. Are you ready? Me, either.
Someone actually sent me this coffee table book to check out, and here’s what I think about it:
This new book, Historic Photos of Washington State, would be a great gift for anyone interested in Washington or Pacific Northwest history.
Ahem, such as DADS. Am I right?
Don’t all men have some weird fascination with black and white scenes of filthy woodsmen, miners, and men enduring hardships just to get away from nagging women settle out west?
For me, the best part about it is the photos part of it, if you know what I mean. Just enough information in captions, but not bogged down with long, boring history lessons (OK, I may not be the history buff they had in mind…).
You can get it on Amazon or here from the publishers. Maybe they can express mail it for us latecomers. And if you like it, they have an entire photo history series of other states.
Full disclosure for my fellow islanders, no pictures of Bainbridge (*gasp*). Maybe there’ll be a sequel?

I’m just wondering if the gift-giver reads your blog?
Hold that - I just re-read the post and now it sounds like they gave it to you on loan or something. Phew! I was starting to think that I needed to counsel you a bit on the fine art of “ReGifting.”

Men do seem to like imagining, from afar, themselves as filthy woddsmen.
