Learn-A-Word Wednesday: finical \FIN-ih-kuhl\
adjective:
Extremely or unduly particular in standards or taste; fastidious; finicky.
Finical is probably derived from fine.
Finical, it’s like cynical with a lisp.
I like how it’s derived from “fine” but SO doesn’t mean it. Plus, what IS fine, anyway?
I say that box of painting supplies on the floor under the extra dining chair is fine. I am sure my professional organizer would say NOT, judging from the look she gave over her little glasses that time.
What? I’m not tripping over it!
You know who’s finical? Mr. Spiffy on the Backyardigans Who’s Bugging You? episode (new episode, woo hoo!). I still love them.
Anyway, have a kid or two and your finicality (made THAT up!) goes out with the trash.
Or, can you be finical as a parent? Is it do-able or a little Stepford-y?

Funny you should ask: I am the anti-finical. I am finically-challenged. Love your blog!!! Adding it immediately. (look! that was kinda finical…)

Uh, what do you mean “goes out with the trash?” Somehow, the trash doesn’t seem to go out often enough around here.
Nice blog — just found you through Seattle Mom Blogs (I’m new there).
Take care!
