the laptop bluuuuuuuues

I’ve been lost. Adrift at sea. Okay, at home.

My Toshiba laptop hates me, became possessed had to go to the shop.

Since it was less than three years old and practically obsolescent still under warranty, the Geek Squad is fixing it holding it until I break out in hives sending it out to actual computer geeks with brains, so they can fix it rip its guts out and replace everything.

They even called me to confirm what they were going to do that they were sending it out, only to call me again three days later, to confirm again that they screwed up the paperwork and it was still sitting there UNTOUCHED were going to do that THING. From the earlier call.

So, I’m getting reacquainted with my ol’ desktop, the DINOSAUR. It’s like all my phones have gone from cordless to CORDED. With that international call time lag/talking over each other thing.

Or more like I have to tap out messages in Morse code. But I didn’t learn Morse code.

And it’s worse than that, really, because it’s my COMPUTER.

I’m so….ANCHORED here. At the desk.

And Kid thinks climbing into my lap is FUN.

And waving her head in front of my face to block my vision. Also FUN.

Just how am I supposed to blog, read, tweet, comment, reply and enter caption contests NOW??

Someone’s gonna have to start bringing me stuff, mug of tea, snack packs, cordless phone…. Two weeks of this?

Wahhhh. I want my mommy motherboard.

  1. Hey, it took me since Sat(right as the final four games were starting), but I finally got rid of my virus last night.

  2. I had a Toshiba laptop once… and vowed never again. It was the biggest piece of crap EVER! just after the warranty expired it experienced a full-on melt-down. I’ve had an HP ever since! :)

  3. Now I’m just hoping to get a few more months out of that laptop! If I ever get it back.

  4. No matter what kind of computer you get, you will find someone out there who had one and hated it and another person who swears by that brand. All computers are possessed, if you ask me.

  5. that is SO true!

  6. At least you didn’t have to revert back to a Commodore 64. Although that might be kind of cool, and come to think of it, I never did get to the end of that freakin’ Oregon Trail.

  7. I remember those!
