Yes, it’s April. Which, in these here parts, means Skagit County Tulip Festival. It goes through the whole month of April.
Since the weekend forecast calls for rain and snow *sigh*, I thought I’d share some snaps from earlier this week.
There were the usual brilliant colors.
Nicely laid, row after row.
And the usual attitude from Kid. No cameras, Mommy! No pictures!
Fortunately, the flowers didn’t talk back.
Some even seemed to grin for the camera.
Kid grinned, too, as she ran away.

Oooh. So pretty.
I hope one day I will get up there. My husband did a Mini rally there with the kids last spring during the festival–but we can only fit four of us in a Mini–and there are five. Sigh. I stayed home.
Driving around in circles in a Mini isn’t my idea of fun anyway. Give me a good book, movie, tivo-ed show anyday. Besides, then i can have a glass of wine, eh?

these pictures are seriously amazing. I just made a note to myself to GO this year. I’ve lived in seattle almost ELEVEN years and have never seen the Tulips. It makes me sad.

Stunning. Tulips are my favorite cut flower.

I understand the sigh. I looked at the forecast before blogging this evening — it’s supposed to be chilly for the next two weeks. I’m REALLY cranky right now.
mmmm … flowers.
