How about…..“Are you the grandma?”
Okay, technically I could be Kid’s grandmother if I started at 18 and that child had a child at 18…., but I don’t really need to THINK about that. Instead of babies, I had school, work, travel, happy hours, moves, and freedom.
If more people would let their grey hair grow out, then these idiots would not say these things to me! I blame everyone else and SOCIETY!
I have had other idiots (nicer ones) say “Oh, your skin is SO young looking!”
These comments are up there with “When are you due?” when you are NOT. That one I’ve dodged. So far.
We’ll talk after all the Easter candy.
But OH, how that may confuse the idiots—she’s a grandma AND expecting….?

I can remember enjoying the comment, “Oh, you must be prematurely gray.” So, I wonder, just what age is one when it’s no longer “premature?”
When ever that was, I’ve long since past it!

I get the “when are you due” thing quite often. Bastards. Unless I’m in stirrup pushing out a head no one should ask me that.

I’ve had “Is that your daughter and granddaughter?” when I’m out with my sister (9 years younger) and niece (2 years old), on the same shopping trip that I was asked if my sister and I were twins!

I don’t ask a woman if she’s pregnant even if she is clearly due any day Because you never can be sure. And I would never ask anyone if they are the grandma, either.

I admit to bleaching for vanity’s sake. My gray is all around my face, strange wirey hairs that proudly stick straight out. Remember Bozo?
My dad is 18 years older than me and aging quite well. Someone once mistook him for my husband. EWWW!
