of smells and eggs

I am amazed at her 4-year-old sensory recall. It’s February, close to a year since we dyed eggs, and yet…..

Hmmmmm. What’s that SMELL??

Vinegar. I’m trying to clean something in the kitchen.

Oh.

It smells like the EASTER BUNNY!

Wouldn’t it be nice to retrain your brain to associate FUN with a YUCKY smell?

  1. That is precious!

It’s amazing how smells can trigger memories. I went to a friends house recently and a smell in her house reminded me of my grandmother’s. (in a good way!)

  2. I’m hoping that was a NICE grandmotherly smell…. :) Sometimes, mothballs remind me of my grandmother!

  3. That’s funny because the smell of vinegar often takes me back to art projects in kindergarten involving macaroni.
