My Bainbridge Island police blotter
February 23:
Officers were called to the residence, a site of a possible manmouseslaughter. A match to the tire tread imprint was immediately found on the resident’s Toyota automobile. “IF I did it, it was an accident. I didn’t have anything against him,” the woman claimed. However, after officers searched the garage, a sleeping bag with the woman’s initials was discovered with holes and mouse droppings were found in the vicinity. The woman was taken to the station for booking, and being considered a flight risk, she is being held without bail.
“I know she’s had a lot of pent-up anger lately. I just hope she gets the help she needs,” her husband said as the officers left. “I like to think a mouse can get a fair shake in this neighborhood, especially the poor, defenseless babies.

I’m just imagining, years from now, Kid is sorting through old family photos and comes across this one. “This must have been around the time that Mom started to crack.”

At least it’s not headless. It takes a certain amount of talent behind the wheel to be able to run over a mouse!

Oh, that’s sad. But I am greatly relieved that I am not the only one who ocassionally posts dead things. I’ve done a cow floating in the lake, a dead hawk I found and moved off the road, varios roadkill in Australia, and vultures picking at a carcass. I bet somehow that posting animal remains is not on the apporved list of how to do a proper blog.

Yes, quite the skillful driver, I am. Talk about wrong place, wrong time for the mouse.
Citizen, I’m glad to know there are all these informative dead animal photos in the blogosphere! We all want to know what they look like…..

We can only hope that this poor little mouse is not a member of the same family that DH gave oxygen to a few months ago!

LOL. Was there uncontrolled muttering as well by the accused? Like, “if the Kid would only take a nap, these things wouldn’t happen.” or “if DH wouldn’t use EVERY pot in the kitchen when he cooked..”
