I’m in withdrawal. (I almost wrote withdrawl, but I’m not writing about Texas today.)
No Golden Globes award show this year. Sniff, sniff. Hey. Not kidding.
Yes, I support the Writers’ Guild of America. I even have friends a friend in the Guild. Heck, I once worked at the Guild (not as a member, though). And even though I love him, I’m kinda mad at Jon Stewart, too. How is he NOT writing for his show?
Anyway, my point is the lack of an award show. And not just any award show.
The GG’s was the best. Only this show had celebrities of film AND TV, together, eating and drinking (let’s face it, probably just drinking) before the broadcast. They were loose (or looser), having fun and it showed. Like the time Christine Lahti won an award when she was in the bathroom.
So this year, I’m not tired of bubbled-headed red carpet commentators, I’m not tired of live Barbie girls handing out the awards, and I’m not even tired of anyone asking, “who’re you wearing?”
I’m so NOT TIRED I’m sick.
As Tim Gunn would say, “WORK IT OUT, PEOPLE.” At least before the next Golden Globes.
Actually, sooner would be better. Before As the World Turns goes improv on me.
Come on.
Admit it.
You missed this, too, right?

Ever since the late Jim Varney’s “Ernest goes to…” movies were snubbed by all the award shows I refuse to watch any of them. That’s just how I roll.
Oh, I just don’t believe it, Jeff! You are missin’ out, man. You have a void left unfilled. Maybe you are unaware of that.
I don’t miss the award show (they don’t air it in my country). However, I do watch As The World Turns! It’s my secret addiction. We are YEARS behind the US. I think we’re seeing your 2004 or 2005 episodes.
Don’t miss GG. But, I am VERY worried about a number of my shows not getting on. The wire is on again, thank god.
But what about Heroes and Weeds?
With that said, I support the writers ! Solidarity!
