Learn-A-Word Wednesday: tar·ry \tar-ee\

verb (used without object):
1. to remain or stay, as in a place; sojourn: He tarried in Baltimore on his way to Washington.
2. to delay or be tardy in acting, starting, coming, etc.
3. to wait.

[Origin: 1275–1325; ME taryen to delay, tary a delay]

Okay, not a particularly difficult word and you likely know it already (we’ll start slow in ’08). However, it’s the second day of a New Year, and this is my reaction to all the things I was going to do, starting Today. And not even Official Resolutions. Just basics, like get all this Christmas stuff out of my face, open the Everest of mail…. Hmmm.

Maybe I should switch to double espresso, but I don’t want to strain anything right off the bat, either…..

Are you tarrying in this New Year? Or plunging in?
