This is me.
With 3 whole days before PRESCHOOL starts again.
At any given moment, I blurt:
“Could you just STOP TALKING for ONE minute?!?”
“Step AWAY from the dog!!” (dog growling)
“Get OFF ME!!”
(or the hub’s own) “Stop REPEATING! You’re REPEATING!”
Yes. It’s a real pleasure to be around us, with this post-holiday, sticky, slimey, stinky attitude we’re oozing. I think it just goes to show that I personally could never, ever homeschool. But we knew this.
I’m trying not to hold it against the preschool, this winter break. But, honestly, I feel they abandon us during this critical time. Take Christmas Day off, FINE. Even Christmas Eve, OKAY, if I’m feeling generous.
But the rest? Didn’t I pay for the MONTH of December? The MONTH of January (well, I will….)?
Who’s with me on this?

Yes, I hear you loud & clear. We are on the verge of becoming the next headline on the nightly news:
“Mother Disappears from Bainbridge Island Home; Husband Suspects She’s Hiding Out at the Library”
I had a meeting this afternoon and one woman asked if I worked. I just laughed and said, “I have 4 kids & I homeschool. Hell yes, I work. I’m just not paid very well.”
Muhahahaha! Mine went back to school yesterday. Hee hee hee! Best day of my life this year.
I remember when Unruly was in preschool how very frustrated I’d get that we had to pay for the whole month of December, yet they’d only have the darned thing open for 2.5 weeks of the month. Very irritating. I wish someone would pay ME for not working, ya know?
Well, my kids are out of preschool but I feel your pain. Actually, I’m laughing my butt off because I’m amazed. You could record those exact phrases at our house on any given night.
Every winter, every spring and every August (when camps are over) these words become my Bizarro-World mantra, especially “Could you just stop talking for ONE MINUTE!?”
Say it with me: “There’s no place like school… there’s no place like school … there’s no place like school…”
I love my kids.

I feel slightly better knowing others are suffering, too….
Just a few more days to go! I’m singing the Monday song already.
