This photo, taken by Ted Scott, is of koru, the baby fronds of a New Zealand pongo fern.
From wikipedia, the koru is the Māori name given to the new unfurling fern frond (say THAT 3 times fast) and symbolizes new life, growth, strength and peace.
Here’s to new beginnings, fresh starts, unlimited do-overs, and tiny unfurlings in 2008.

I’ll drink to that!! Especially, I like the idea of “unlimited do-overs”, which I have countless dreams of being magically able to experience. The older I get, the more I dream. And, so goes life here on planet Earth, as we keep practicing until we get it “right!” So, here’s to you, too, dear Wendy.
HAPPY NEW YEAR WENDY!!!!
Love it! and happy new year to you too!
Love the picture and the info. It the first new thing I have learned this year! Happy New Year!
Thanks to all of you! It’s been great to have kind words appear on this blog throughout the year!!
Great photo. I love (and dearly miss) ferns. I love the fractal qualities of them.
