a happy newness to you

This photo, taken by Ted Scott, is of koru, the baby fronds of a New Zealand pongo fern.
From wikipedia, the koru is the Māori name given to the new unfurling fern frond (say THAT 3 times fast) and symbolizes new life, growth, strength and peace.
Here’s to new beginnings, fresh starts, unlimited do-overs, and tiny unfurlings in 2008.

I’ll drink to that!! Especially, I like the idea of “unlimited do-overs”, which I have countless dreams of being magically able to experience. The older I get, the more I dream. And, so goes life here on planet Earth, as we keep practicing until we get it “right!” So, here’s to you, too, dear Wendy.

Great photo. I love (and dearly miss) ferns. I love the fractal qualities of them.
