a little skin — a skin tip, that is!

Jenny at Absolutely Bananas, visionary that she is, has declared a beauty tips-sharing day. So I thought I’d jump on this bandwagon. Or at least walk next to it, panting and thirsty, yelling, “hey, guys, wait for meeeee….”

Some who know me will be surprised that I have a tip. I pride myself on my low-maintenance. (You would not believe the shock of friends who saw my eyelash curler one girls’ weekend trip. Just ‘cuz I have one doesn’t mean I use it daily, or weekly.)

Anyway, my tip is for those of us needing a little moisture in the facial area: Moisturizer. Without it, I can see actual cracks, and cracks of cracks leading to cracks. And that’s without smiling.

21dz1s5y9sl_aa194_.jpgI use Kimberley Sayer’s Anti-Oxidant Daily Moisturizer with 25 SPF. It’s not so heavy to cause breakouts (yes, you can have wrinkles AND zits–ah, middle age) but still enough to soften. And it’s not loaded with evil-sounding artificial stuff, so when my dog licks it off, she won’t get tumors on her back…. Plus, it says “anti-oxidant” so that’s got to be good.

You can get it on Amazon or at her site.

Happy slathering!

  • Hands down, the best moisturizer (and tinted to boot) is YouRebel by Benefit. SPF15, great subtle color . . . this is the one thing I’d grab from my make-up drawer if I had to choose just one thing. (Actually, it’s pretty much the only make-up I own, so I guess that doesn’t make it a big selling point.)

In summer, I also swear by Hoola (also by Benefit). The look of a sun-kissed tan without that nasty melanoma to worry about.

Not sure, though, if the dog can eat it.

  • My sister would be so proud you’re worried about tumors on your dog.
I’m one of those that only cares about me.
    ME ME ME.
    Yeah, right.

  • Sounds fabulous… my beauty product shopping list is getting scarily long!!

  • Lady, I’ll have to check that out when my out stuff runs out.

Oh, yes, Moosh, it’s a factor when you get licks all day long….

Bananas, my list is getting long, too, and we have only yourself to blame!

  • I have used apricot oil or almond oil for awhile nows now and I think its just as good as anything and much cheaper. oh and more natural. But, I probably have what is considered, dry skin now.

Wendy, you should “specialize” in tips for the low-maintenance woman!

  • Hmmm, tips for the low-maintenance woman….I’ll think on that one!
