back in the stone ages….

We had a major castatrophe here.

A leak developed in the Insta-Hot tank under our sink. Laugh if you will, but this is IMPORTANT. After the washing machine, and the dishwasher, and the TIVO, and, well, that’s about it (and not in that particular order), Instant Hot Water is crucial to my happiness and comfort in my old age.

The old machine (”old” = five years!) expired when DH was out of town, natch. And it didn’t go out in a blast. Oh no, it silently began to drip, drip, drip, turning the under-the-sink area into an undersea area, or more accurately, a swampland with giant mossy trees of cleaning supply bottles.

Since then, we’ve been launched back into the Stone Ages, resorting to boiling water in a kettle on the stove. And waiting, waiting, waiting. Imagine the humiliation. Next, we’ll be chopping down trees to build a fire for cooking and digging up clay to shape a mug.

Sure, I could use that pre-boiling time to clean my sink, wipe down counters, empty the dishwasher (which could also double as good exercise, I suppose), or simply clear my mind and chant “ooooohhhhhmmm.”

Nah.

Usually, you could find me staring at the stove, tapping my fingers, and eventually grabbing the kettle before the whistle blows.

Now, my hero hath arrived (oh, and DH is back in town, too, to install it):

And we are launched forward into modern leisure living once again. Ahhhhhh.
