If you know this quote, then you know what I’ve been up to.
No, not eating lots of beans.
I went to Seattle to see Spamalot (the musical based on Monty Python and the Holy Grail). This site has some good shots of the Vegas show.
I must say it was worth the price of admission just to see a grown person, one of the French guards, say those words on stage! Those guys were hilarious with their rude gestures and insult-slinging. King Arthur was brilliant as a dolt. And Camelot was Las Vegas. Turns out the Very Round Table is a roulette wheel….
And the coconuts! Don’t forget those. Clip-clop, clip-clop, clip-clop.
I will be grinning for days.

Hubby and I went and saw this last year…loved, loved, loved it! I laughed so hard I hurt afterwards. Of course, it helps to be a Monty Python fan…those non-fans just don’t get the humor (I am a knight who says “NEE!”)
My favorite part was the production number called “You Need A Jew.”
We went to see the Saturday matinee show, and I loved seeing the cross-section of people in attendance–all sorts! Lots of fun.
Jenn, I think you’re right about the non-Python fans not getting it. I heard someone here saying it was “just okay.” Whaaaaa?
FFF-that was hilarious! I loved the giant, lit Star of David!
Ashley-that’s when I went, too! (I was “aaaaaalllll alone….” as King Arthur said. But it was fun anyway!)
It was absolutely hilarious. I took Ann right after it came out so we were lucky enough to see it with the original cast. She is a Monty fan (another reason to love my kid) and we had a blast. We brought Chuck a “I’m not dead yet” shirt as a consolation prize since he didn’t go with us.
