I think these girls had some kind of "school spirit" faces that stayed on past the officially approved time period. Ya know, like for a basketball game and now it's baseball season.

Rubbing alcohol, I can see. Fingernail polish remover and industrial cleaner do not belong on anyone's skin, not even a stinky teenager. And I have one of those. They do stink. But I find it highly inappropriate for school employees to use harsh chemicals on a kid's skin, no matter what the age.

If the picture/words on the kid's faces were obscene or inappropriate, parents should have been contacted and the kids either sent home or sent to the office for the remainder of the day.

Well with a 12 year old its anybodies guess what they painted on their face - it could have been FU.... It also must have been permanent marker or some other more permanent paint to not come off with soap and water. Girls that age have their own bottles of fingernail polish remover at home and are not adverse to using it creatively (you should have seen the carpet in Ann's room). This isn't abuse of a precious fragile 4 year old. This is a smelly obnoxious teen who probably did something completely inappropriate and either had to be sent home or let them attempt to get it off. I can remember using remover to get rid of those odious "temporary" tattoos....around holiday time when pictures would be taken for posterity.

That's true. By the end of the day with Kid, I am sticking my tongue out when I'm mad and saying "oh yeah???!" They just push your buttons, although school workers should be above that......

I'm just wondering why they thought it was okay for them to step in and handle the skin-care of someone else's kid? Especially a 12 year-old.

I do wonder if school employees tend to get a bit lax about some things most people would consider inappropriate because they are among so many kids all day long. I know when I'm around my kids for too long I start behaving rather childishly, too.
