Did I mention I’m allergic to cats?
Here’s one cat no one looks forward to seeing.
I AM a dog person; I fully admit it. I don’t hate cats, well, except for those psycho kitties who snuggle up, get you petting them, then all of a sudden, bite and maul you to shreds. Come on, cat people, you KNOW what I am talking about.
This nursing home cat comes to snuggle when a patient is about to kick the bucket. Doctors
marvel at his ESP or whatever is drawing him to these people at that time. I am not surprised. Kinda fits the profile. Notice he does not snuggle up when you are alive with mileage to go? They want to pet me? Calling my name? Suckers, Oscar thinks, trotting away down the hall.
Let’s hope the military is not already on this case, trying to figure out Oscar’s powers to use in the war on terror. Cats, like dolphins and sea lions, are just not good soldier material.
Cats do have some kind of special powers. They manage to figure out in a room of people which person (moi) is allergic to them, and then they hop up on my shoulder to smear their cat dander up my nose and in my eyeballs. Amazing powers.
One friend, an analytical Gemini, said strong, independent people like cats, while passive, codependent people (read: pathetic weaklings) like dogs. Guess which she liked. I just like to have someone with me all the time, whenever my friends are “too busy,” ready to hear my venting or accept my forced hugs….that’s…not…codependence…. Hmmmmm.
I love how dogs will come back, time and again. Torture them and cut their nails, they come back. Humiliate them and cut their hair, they come back. Take them to the vet for shots and other nasties, they come back. Just a little sweet-talkin’, and yea, that suppertime call, and they come back.
And you don’t have to be on your death bed, either. A regular, king size bed will be just fine.

Ooh, I read about that cat and my immediate thought was…”I don’t want that one anywhere NEAR my bed!”
We have one of those pet-n-attack cats. He also attacks when he’s cranky. Or hungry. Or bored. Or hot. Or cold. Or….you get the idea. And I swear he has a smug, “Ha ha! I GOT you!” smirk on his face when he walks off. He also hides under beds or tables and attacks legs as innocent victims walk by. Little jerk.

I have both a cat and a dog so I like both, but unlike dogs, cats get my respect. Dogs are animal whores. They love anybody, lick anyone, sniff anyone’s butt. Okay, so maybe they are sluts since they don’t seem to need monitary motivation to do any of the above. Cats however, are more discriminating. You have to earn their affection. You mistreat them and they will find another home to live in where things are better. I admire there lack of willingness to take crap. Dogs; whatever you dish out they will take. Not so admirable when you think about it….

Welllllll, dogs are easy, but that’s what I like about them. Wanting to pet a cat is like liking that guy in the leather jacket who will never look your way…..frustrating, one way love. I want to feel the love, even if it is stimulated by food. But is that the only reason they wag their tail when you come home?? I refuse to believe it!

Yeah, my cats will find the people who are allergic, or the people who hate cats to begin with. Except my cats if they find someone who loves them won’t leave them alone.

I love em both but if I had to pick I’d have to go with dogs. Where cats are cool, dogs are fun. No matter how bad my day was, it cheers me up walking into a house of twirling, furry balls of tongues who are so excited to see me.

I dunno what kind of cats you-alls been hangin’ with, but my cats love up to me big-time when I get home. I love watching late-night movies on my couch with a big sleepy mess of feline love stew on my lap and chest.

Although, of course, I love the same thing with my dog!
