When there are clouds, in the sky, you’ll get by….

If you smile, through your fear and sorrow
Smile, and there’ll be tomorrow…
So, I get up this morning, see the wetness outside, feel blah, and as I am making my cup of green tea, I look out the window to see these guys. Smiling.
See them?

They look like regular flowers up close, but from a distance, they look like two little smiley faces popping out, holding their own private joke (are you laughing at me??). They keep smiling.

I have not decided yet if I should rip their smirky little heads off or leave them be. Smiling.

Flowers always cheer me up some, especially in the morning.
Not completely, mind you. But they always add a little brightness in.

Don’t rip their heads off! They are cute!
Isn’t it amusing, though, that they are called pansies, yet the flower is popular for it’s resemblence to the face of a male lion, and pansies are the toughest flower in the gardening spectrum (because they withstand freezes best), and lions are the toughest animal on the African plains and yet, it’s called a “Pansy?” Because, we all know, pansies are wimps. Just amusing.
Anyway, that was a tad rambling.

Even more cheer has come up now. Another one was staring at me this morning…..
They MUST be hardy because these were from last year and got totally ignored throughout winter and spring (common status in my “garden”), and yet, here they are. Pansies are beasts! Maybe we need to reform the connotations dictionary to make “pansies” = tough guys!

[...] Some people are very anti-emoticon. Who knew? It’s not like having two smirky faces glaring at you from your own deck every day. [...]
