Man sitting by window, broken leg, bored…remind you of anything? Only my all-time favorite movie, Rear Window. Right? (Just say yes, even if you don’t know this movie because that will break my heart.) Wrong. It’s my life. Well, my husband’s life. Now that his leg is broken, there he sits, day after day at the window, but he does not have possible murderous neighbors like Raymond Burr to investigate. He just has all those birds to watch at the feeders. Not quite the same. Where’s some hot summer weather and a bunch of brownstones full of suspicious people when you need them?
And this scenario leaves me as who? I’ll give you a hint. I’m not the rich model/socialite played by Grace Kelly. Right. I’m the nurse flipping him over every day, refilling his ice packs, telling him he’s imagining things, played by Thelma Ritter. Oh well, at least I am helping people…..
